Google Announces A Meta Keywords Tag Just For Google News Publishers

Once again Meta keywords are back in Google search engine for Google News Publishers

Everybody knew Google ended using the mate keyword tag long time ago. They just brush off it and because of that, various SEO don’t difficulty to use it.

But two days before Google declared they will start using it for Google News publishers in the form of the news_keywords metatag. This new Meta Keyword is not look like similar meta keywords tag that died long time ago for traditional SEO intentions.

The latest metatag induction in Google to gives publishers some freedom to be more creative in their headlines and article copy, and not have to concern about jamming keywords in everything they publish. Here’s a speedy description from Google News Product Manager Rudy Galfi:

The goal is simple: empower news writers to express their stories freely while helping Google News to properly understand and classify that content so that it’s discoverable by our wide audience of users.
Similar in spirit to the plain keywords metatag, the news_keywords metatag lets publishers specify a collection of terms that implement to a news article. These words don’t need to look anywhere within the headline or body text. 
In fact, I have already implemented on my SEO blog site because it is simple and easy. I have meta keywords but I don’t have the news-keywords tag.

Now, Google has released the published a help page displaying the tips about how to apply the news_keyword meta tag which is like this:

meta name=”news_keywords” content=”SEO, SEO Tips, SEO and SEM”

If you are publisher then publishers have only 10 news keywords limit and they have to use commas to separate each one.
