Experian Hitwise conducted a survey in the U.S. about social networking sites, to find out which one is ahead of others, Pinterest is now the number three most- famous social network, Facebook on the top and twitter on second spot.

Pinterest got 21.5 million visits till Jan 28, which is nearly 30-fold gain over a comparable week in July. Not astonishingly, the ration between men and women is 60:40 ration visitors. These statistics were shown in a report.

Matt Tathm says Pinterest might beat its next closest rival, Linkedin, in total visits in Feb. The ranking by total visit for March is as follows:

  1. Facebook: 7 billion
  2. Twitter: 182 million
  3. Pinterest: 104 million
  4. LinkedIn: 86 million
  5. Tagged: 72 million
  6. Google+: 61 million
The report is based on web traffic rather than unique visitors and doesn’t contain visits from mobile sites. In this report there are another websites foursquare who got only 2.9 million visits in March and Instagram got 10.2 million.

Everyone knows the ComScore who evaluate traffic on unique basis rather than web traffic visit, didn’t add Pinterest as a social networking website in the list of 50 web properties in February. All the same, Linkedin got 27 spot with 36 million visitors. Pinterest as its number three top gaining social networking website, according to ComScore.
